Fully Uninstalling Ctrl Suite & Removing Associated Files (MacOS)

This guide covers all steps to fully uninstall Ctrl Suite from your mac, including removing your license, uninstalling all parts of the application, the Ctrl Engine Service and clearing cached data.

Note: To complete all steps within this guide, you must have administrator privaleges on your mac.

Removing Ctrl Designer

Uninstalling Ctrl Designer

Uninstalling the Ctrl Designer application is a quick and easy process.

  • Firstly, make sure you have synced any changes to Ctrl Engine before removing Ctrl Designer from your computer.

  • Close Ctrl Designer.

  • Open Finder, and navigate to the Ctrl Designer App icon. Select the app, then right-click and select delete.

  • Next, select Go from menu.

  • Hold down the option key on your keyboard; you should see a new option for Library.

  • Whilst holding down the option key, select Library.

  • Delete the Ctrl Designer folder from this directory.

Removing Ctrl Engine

Unlicensing Ctrl Engine

Before Uninstalling Ctrl Engine, ensure that it is no longer licensed. Deleting all files will also delete your Ctrl Engine License.

Note if you deleted or uninstalled your license before uninstallling Ctrl Engine. Restore the defeted folders from trash, to ensure your license is not deleted. Re-install Ctrl Engine and uninstall the license before starting the removal process again.

Uninstalling Ctrl Engine

Uninstalling the Ctrl Engine & Ctrl Engine Manager application is a quick and easy process.

  • Firstly open Ctrl Engine Manager and Stop Ctrl Engine from running.

  • Once stopped, quit Ctrl Engine Manager.

  • Open Finder, and navigate to the Ctrl Engine App icon. Select the app, then right-click and select delete.

  • Next, select Go from menu.

  • Hold down the option key on your keyboard; you should see a new option for Library.

  • Whilst holding down the option key, select Library.

  • Delete the Ctrl Engine folder from this directory.

Removing the Engine Service

After uninstalling Engine. For a complete wipe, you can open the command line to unload the Ctrl Engine Service, then run the following commands to fully unload the Engine service:

  • sudo launchctl stop com.onlx.ctrl.engine
  • sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.onlx.ctrl.engine.plist
  • sudo rm /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.onlx.ctrl.engine.plist

Next Then delete the content at the following flie paths:

  • /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Ctrl Engine
  • /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/CtrlNet
  • /Library/Application Support/Ctrl Engine

Removing Ctrl Player

Uninstalling the Ctrl Player application is a quick and easy process.

  • Open Finder, and navigate to the Ctrl Player App icon. Select the app, then right-click and select delete.

  • Next, select Go from menu.

  • Hold down the option key on your keyboard; you should see a new option for Library.

  • Whilst holding down the option key, select Library.

  • Delete the Ctrl Player folder from this directory.
