Workspaces

The workspace tab's default view shows all workspaces synchronised to the Engine from Ctrl Designer. Only one Workspace can be set to run at a time. Use the Make Active button to activate a workspace on Engine.

Icons beneath each workspace show the quantity of Inputs, Outputs, Entities & Players used by the workspace.

Viewing a workspace

By viewing a workspace, all Nodes used to construct the workspace can be viewed.

By default, 50 shadow copies of the workspace are saved, allowing users to roll back the workspace to previous versions. These shadow copies are referred to as incidences and can be downloaded from Engine to be opened in Ctrl Designer. - The number of incidences can be modified to fill as much or little storage as required.

If Multiple Engines have been assigned to the workspace, these will be shown alongside their last known IP address.

  • The more incidences created during programming sessions, the more flexibility you have to revert changes.

Always take a copy of the latest _ workspace backup before signing off a system. This will ensure you have a backup if your hardware gets damaged._

Note: backups of workspaces taken from Ctrl Engine are saved in the .cdw (Ctrl Designer Workspace) format only. These do not contain the images included in Ctrl Suite's MediaHub. If you require a full backup of all image assets alongside the workspace file itself, use the Export Bundle option within Ctrl Designer.

Archiving & deleting workspaces

Old workspaces can be archived by using the red archive button. This provides a method to clear workspaces away from your main views before committing to permanently deleting them.

To delete a workspace Archive, then Delete.

Note: Once a workspace is deleted from the archive, it cannot be restored.
