Media Hub

Ctrl Suite's Media Hub is a central storage point for all images used within a Ctrl Suite workspace.

All images added to the Media Hub are optimised and saved in the .webp format to reduce file size.

Media Hub can be accessed Ctrl Designer's Tools menu, or opened using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+M.

By referencing the same media slot in Media Hub when creating interfaces, the storage space the system requires and media transfer times are reduced.

The replace option within the Media Hub allows for existing media assets to be exchanged for new ones. All existing interfaces that reference the media file will update based on this without opening and editing each one.

User Interfaces

Media Hub provides standard file explorer options to create a folder structure and organise all media.

Options include:

  • New folder
  • Import
  • Edit
  • Rename
  • Replace
  • Delete
  • Order from A->Z / Z->A
  • View media in a list or tiled

Transferring Media content between computers (Ctrl Designer)

There are two ways to transfer the contents of Media Hub to another computer:

Navigate to the Application Menu and select Export Bundle.

This process will bundle the Ctrl Designer workspace with the relevant assets it uses from the Media Hub folder, ideal for sending to projects. This option produces a Ctrl Designer Workspace Bundle (.cdw-bundle) that can be saved and sent to anyone to open within Ctrl Designer.

Within Ctrl Designer on the computer receiving the workspace file, select Open and open the workspace bundle file. The user will be prompted to select a file location to save the workspace to on their computer, and all Media Hub assets will be added to the Media Hub folder on their computer.
