Settings

The Settings tab allows adjustment of Engine wide Settings. All options apart from CtrlNet are presented in the Engine setup process.

Basics

  • Engine Name - Give your engine instance a unique name to make it recognisable. It must be six characters or more.
  • Engine Location (optional) - Let your technicians know where the engine instance is located.
  • Default Theme - Select the default theme for the Engine UI (either light / dark mode).
  • Default Language - Select the default language for the Engine UI.
  • Telemetry - By enabling telemetry, you are allowing ON LX Limited to collect anonymised data on your engine instance for diagnostics and development in line with our Privacy & Data Protection Policy.

Admin

Admin accounts have the highest level of user privilege within Ctrl Engine.

Note: being an Engine Admin or engine Super Admin does not give the user Admin access to interfaces running on a Ctrl Player workspace.

  • Username - Give your Super Admin account an uncommon username to improve security.
  • Email Address - Provide an email address to receive important alerts from Ctrl Engine.
  • Password - Your password must be at least seven characters in length and use both uppercase and lowercase letters & symbols. - To change the password, enter the current and the new one and press Save Changes.

Users

Use this option to view, delete and add more users to Ctrl Engine.

  • Viewer - Can view the Engine status and Workspaces.
  • Editor - Can edit and manage workspaces on the Engine.
  • Admin - Can manage the Engine and all workspaces.

CtrlNet

CtrlNet is the proprietary protocol used by Ctrl Suite to link all system elements together; it handles discovery, workspace sync and more to ensure the smooth running of the system. The following options are configurable:

  • Discoverable - Defines if the Ctrl Engine can be discovered on a network by Ctrl Designer & Ctrl Player incidences. When disabled, the incidence will be accessible using the API only. (It is recommended that Ctrl is set to be discoverable during the configuration and workspace creation process).

  • Debug Mode - All console messages will be saved in the logs when enabled. - Ideal for aiding tech support.

Info

The instance, type and UUID are provided for diagnostic purposes only and are unique to the CtrlNet session. They cannot be modified.

System

The system info - Useful for diagnostics and tech support.

  • Working Path - The file directory in which Ctrl Engine's configuration is stored on the computer.
