Variables Viewer

The Variables viewer is used to see the current values assigned to Variables within a connected Ctrl Engine.

This is a useful troubleshooting tool for monitoring the current value stored within variables within Ctrl Suite.

The Variables view can be accessed within Ctrl Designer by either:

  • Clicking on the Variable icon located at the bottom right-hand corner of the Ctrl Designer interface when when connected to an active Ctrl Engine incidence.
  • Navigating to Tools>Variables
  • Using the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+V.

This allows you to see all variable activity running within the connected Ctrl Engine incidence, ideal for troubleshooting. All data is displayed in real-time.

Note: If you are not connected to an active Engine or have not defined any variables within Workspace Settings The Vaiable view this view will remain be blank.

Variable Value Manipulation

Alongside viewing variables, When Ctrl Designer is connected to a Ctrl Engine incidence, it's possible to set a variable's values using the Variables viewer. This acts as a helpful tool to build your Ctrl Suite Processes.

To set a Variable's value:

  • Type the value to be set into the box representing the variable.
  • Press Push, to send the value to Ctrl Engine.

To reset a Variable:

To reset a variable back to its default state, press the Reset button below the variable you want to target.
