If I buy additional Player or Entities licenses do I qualify for a further year of updates?

In short, no.

Additional Entities and Players can be purchased as bolt-on's for an existing system but do not impact Ctrl Engine.

To update a system past the point of its 1 year complimentary update window, you will need to buy a one-year system update license.
