Web View

The Web View allows you to display webpages hosted on devices on your local network or on the internet and allows selection of specific domains, user interaction and a number of permissions options.

Uses of the Web View module include: Configuration of a control devices on your local network (i.e. DMX nodes, aideo & audio Matrix's). Populate each interface page within Ctrl for iPad without the need to remember multiple IP addresses in a web browser. For customer facing hospitality applications, customer sign up forms or websites can be displayed with restrictions to limit the user from navigating away from the single linked page.

Module Settings

  • Define a web URL for the landing page. - This is the webpage the module will load every time the interface is navigated to, or the app is restarted.
  • Define allowed URLs or domains that the user can navigate to, to allow access to all web domains leave this field blank.
  • Load timeout, set a time for the webpage to load, if no response is received within this time the model will time out showing a disconnect message. For known slow connections, the longer the timeout better.
  • Page loading or connectivity errors can be shown or hidden from being displayed when the module is running.

Module Properties

Property
Background ColourThe control background colour is displayed whilst the webpage is loaded or of the webpage cannot be displayed.
Disable interactionDisabling interaction means the user cannot interact with the webpage shown within the module. This is a powerful tool when using the Web View module to display videos or a remote update screen.
Show BorderToggling this setting on and off shows or hides the module border. (colours can be defined within module properties)
Edge StyleDefine if rounded or square
Show Control BackgroundSelect if to show the control background or not.

Tip: If using the Web View module, to troubleshoot your installation, it can be useful to create a device watcher module targeting a the same IP address as your server. If a using a website on the internet website, use the IP address of a known reliable website in the device watcher to ensure a connection can be made (i.e. Cloudflare: http://1.1.1.1)
